20 October 2006 For Immediate Release News from Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce Press Contact Person: Hugh Miller, 802.362.6313, hmiller@manchesterchamber.net WORLD RECORD PUMPKIN CARVING IN MANCHESTER Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with The Orvis Company, is hosting a World Record Pumpkin Carving attempt at 2 pm on October 28th at the Orvis Flagship store on Rte 7A. All official carvers of 24-lb pumpkins for this World Record must be registered before 1:30 pm on the day of the event. There is no charge for registration. Please bring along your own carving tools (spoon, carving utensil, etc). This family friendly event taking place from noon to 4 pm, includes pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, children’s costume contest, raffles, prizes and more! Equinox Valley Nursery carves their giant pumpkin at noon. Children’s costume contest takes place at 1p.m. Prizes will be presented and free ice cream and hotdogs will be available all afternoon. The Chamber has a healthy, but limited supply of 24-lb pumpkins and those who register are on a first-come basis.
